Cha Shibiao

  • Zha Shibiao, courtesy name is Erzhan, art names are Meihesanren and Lanlao, was born in Xin’an, Henan. He is a genius in the last years of Ming Dynasty, a famous painter, calligrapher and poet in the early years of Qing Dynasty. He was good at landscape paintings. One of the “Haiyang Sijia”.

    • He Shaoji

      He Shaoji (1799-1873), courtesy name was Zi Zhen, art name was Dong Zhou, Dongzhou Jushi and Yuan Sou, born in Daozhou Hunan (now Daoxian). He was a poet, painter, and calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty. He passed palace examination “Jinshi” in 1836, later he worked at Shangdong Luoyuan Academy and Changsha Chengnan Academy.

      Gao Qipei (1672-1734), courtesy name was Wei Zhi, art name was Nan Cun, born in Tieling Liaoning. He was the teacher of Li Shan who was one of the eight eccentrics of Yangzhou “Yangzhou Ba Guai”. He had a great talent for art and was good at poetry and painting. The human figures, bird-and-flowers and insects of his works were painted delicately with brilliant colors. In his youth he learned traditional painting, and his landscape and human figure painting were influenced by Wu Wei.

      Yun Shouping, courtesy name was Shou Ping, art name was Nan Tian, a prominent modern painter and calligrapher of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, a founder of Changzhou School of Painting. Later he became one of the six great landscape painters in early Qing Dynasty “Qing Liu Jia”.
