Gao Qipei

• Gao Qipei (1672-1734), courtesy name was Wei Zhi, art name was Nan Cun, born in Tieling Liaoning. He was the teacher of Li Shan who was one of the eight eccentrics of Yangzhou “Yangzhou Ba Guai”. He had a great talent for art and was good at poetry and painting. The human figures, bird-and-flowers and insects of his works were painted delicately with brilliant colors. In his youth he learned traditional painting, and his landscape and human figure painting were influenced by Wu Wei.
