Wu Hufan
Wu Hufan, originally named Yi Yan, courtesy name Yujun, later changed his name to Wan, and his pseudonym was Dongzhuang. He also used the name Qian and signed his works as Hufan. Born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, he was an important figure in modern Chinese painting and also a renowned expert in calligraphy and painting appraisal.

Fan Haolin
Fan Haolin (1885-1962), courtesy name was Shao Yun, was born in Chongming. In his childhood, he leaned painting from father, leaned Western painting from early age, and later he learned landscape painting from Lu Hui. He taught at Suzhou Art College. He was good at painting Kunqu, Biwa and children. Around 1920,he established the Leng Jiang Painting Association in Suzhou, and later he moved to Shanghao to sell paintings and earn a living. Librarian of Shanghai Museum of Literature and History, painter of Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy, member of Chinese Artists Association and Shanghai branch, member of Chinese Musician Association Shanghai branch, member of Shanghai Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Research Association, member of Peasant-Worker Democratic Party. He wa proficient in music, painting landscapes were influenced by Wang Xiang and Shi Tao, also good at painting clouds, smog, willows and other Jiangnan landscapes.

Lu Yifei
Lu Yifei (1908-1997), other name was Chong, courtesy name was Yi Fei, art name was Su Sou, born in Changshu Jiangsu, a well-known Chinese modern painter and outstanding art educator. He specializes in bird-and-flower painting, especially peony. He produced “Flowers and Full Moon”, “Spring to the Countryside”, “Peach Blossoms”, etc. He was a professor of the China Academy of Art, a research student instructor, a vice director of the Xiling Painting and Calligraphy Institute, an honorary director of the Changshu Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and adviser of the Xiling Seal Art Society.

Ma Gongyu
Ma Gongyu, originally named Gongyu, later changed his name to Gongyu and Gongyu. His calligraphy was excellent in all styles: seal script (篆書), clerical script (隸書), regular script (真書), and cursive script (草書). In regular and cursive scripts, he followed the styles of Zhong You and Wang Xizhi, with powerful brushstrokes and a smooth, refined flow. His seal script and clerical script demonstrated even greater skill, and his name spread widely across China, from the Yangtze River to the north. In painting, he excelled in landscape, flowers, and birds and fish.

Pang Zuoyu
Pang Zuoyu, also known as Qingzhao, with the studio name Yao Cao Lu Zhu (Master of Yao Grass Cottage), was from Nanxun, Zhejiang. She was the niece of the famous modern collector Pang Yuanji. She was skilled in painting flowers, insects, and plants, drawing inspiration from Yun Shouping and Hua Yan's techniques of coloring and sketching from life. Her works are elegant in style, with a refined and steady brushwork.
