Jin Mengshi

  • Jin Mengshi, other name was He, courtesy name was Meng Shi, was born in Wu Xian Jiangsu. He was a calligrapher of the end of Qing Dynasy and the Republic of China. He was a member of Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, and one of the representatives of the Shanghai Painting School. Many of his works has human figures and flowers illustrated within them.

    • Shang Shengbo

      Shang Shengbo, named Yanzhi, styled Shengbo (using his style as his name), and known by the art name Anlu, was from Zhejiang. In the early Republic of China period, he maintained close relationships in Shanghai with prominent painters such as Wu Changshuo, Wang Yiting, and Ni Mogen. He excelled in painting flowers and birds, and insects, and occasionally painted animals and figures. His brushwork was pure and elegant, capturing the spirit of the Ming masters.
