    Zhang Xinjia, courtesy name was Xingjie, was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu. He was an advisor to the Wumen School Research Association and president of the Suzhou Chinese Painting Institute. When he was a young, he studied landscape painting under Chen Mo who was a famous painter in Lushan. Later he studied flower-and-bird painting. Over the year, he had imitated the masterpiece of famous painters. He studied under Qingteng, Baiyang, Bada, Xugu, Bonian, Changshuo.
