【Overview】
This exhibition explores the art of Tsuguharu Foujita (Leonard Foujita, 1886–1968) through seven thematic perspectives. Under the supervision of Sylvie Buisson, a leading authority on Foujita studies, the exhibition examines the sources of Foujita’s artistic creativity through seven “passions”: Self-Expression, Landscape, Avant-Garde, East and West, Women, Children, and Heaven and Angels.
Featuring primarily works from various regions of France that have rarely been introduced in previous exhibitions, the exhibition brings together approximately 140 works, including paintings, prints, and archival materials, with a number of works being shown in Japan for the first time.
