Introduce: The opening exhibition at the Gifu Museum of Modern Art, known as the Momoko Kan, will showcase approximately 30 representative works selected from the Shinoda Momoko Collection, which comprises over 1,000 pieces. These works span Momoko's career, from avant-garde calligraphic pieces created shortly after the war when Momoko was active as a calligrapher, to the establishment of her unique style known as "Momoko Suiboku" in the 1970s-1990s. As she aged, her refined expression in ink reached new heights in the 2000s. Furthermore, in her later years, she incorporated Japanese aesthetic consciousness into her works, using waka poetry as material and reintroducing characters into her pieces, resulting in new expressions through Momoko's unique abstraction. This exhibition aims to introduce Momoko's creative journey over the years, showcasing the depth and breadth of the Momoko Collection for visitors to enjoy.
