      Prince Gong Yixin (恭亲奕訢) was the sixth son of Emperor Daoguang and the half-brother of Emperor Xianfeng. He was a prominent official during the reigns of Emperor Xianfeng, Emperor Tongzhi, and Emperor Guangxu, and served as a key figure in the Self-Strengthening Movement (洋务运动). He contributed greatly to the development of modern industry and education in China. Additionally, he was a pioneer in Qing foreign diplomacy during the late Qing Dynasty. Prince Gong played a significant role in suppressing the Taiping Rebellion, helping to preserve Qing rule. He assisted Emperor Tongzhi in realizing the Tongzhi Restoration (同治中兴), which aimed to revitalize the Qing Dynasty.
