Gong Qinwang

  • Prince Gong Yixin (恭亲奕訢) was the sixth son of Emperor Daoguang and the half-brother of Emperor Xianfeng. He was a prominent official during the reigns of Emperor Xianfeng, Emperor Tongzhi, and Emperor Guangxu, and served as a key figure in the Self-Strengthening Movement (洋务运动). He contributed greatly to the development of modern industry and education in China. Additionally, he was a pioneer in Qing foreign diplomacy during the late Qing Dynasty. Prince Gong played a significant role in suppressing the Taiping Rebellion, helping to preserve Qing rule. He assisted Emperor Tongzhi in realizing the Tongzhi Restoration (同治中兴), which aimed to revitalize the Qing Dynasty.

      Shan Qi (善耆), courtesy name Aitang (艾堂), was a member of the Aisin Gioro clan, from the Manchu Xiangbai Banner. He was the 10th generation of the Suqinq Wang (肃亲王), a hereditary title in the Qing Dynasty, and held the position of the highest-ranking prince in the Qing imperial family. Shan Qi was a prominent noble and official during the late Qing Dynasty.
