Liu Jiyou

  • Liu Jiyou was a native of Tianjin and a lianhuanhua (comic-style illustration) artist, acclaimed as one of the founders of New China’s lianhuanhua art. Born in Shanghai, he was also a renowned Chinese calligrapher. After 1962, he served at the Palace Museum as Assistant Technician, Assistant Research Fellow, Associate Research Curator, and Research Curator, and received a special government allowance.
