Mokuan Syoutou (1611-1684), secular surname is Wu, born in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian. Another name is Master Huiming. He is a priest of the Obaku sect of the Rinzai sect who came to Japan from the Ming dynasty in the early Edo period.
