Ji Fei

  • Ji Fei (即非), styled Ji Fei (即非), was a Zen monk from Huangbo Mountain in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, during the late Ming Dynasty. He was a prominent monk of the Huangbo school (also known as the Obaku sect) and played a significant role in spreading Zen Buddhism to Japan during the late Ming period.

      Yinyuan Longqi, The Zen monk in the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty, was born in Fuqing Prefecture, Fuzhou Prefecture, Fujian. He went to Japan to spread Buddhism with Daozhechaoyuan. They had a great influence on the reconstruction of the Rinzai sect and the Soto sect of the Japanese Zen sect at that time. He is also the founder of the Obaku sect of Japanese Zen sect and the founder of Senchado.
