Gao Jianfu

  • Gao Jinfu is one of the founders of Lingnanism paintings, an art educator and Chinese contemporary national artist. He has been called Lingnanism after he caused a revolution on Chinese art with Chen Shuren and Gao Qifeng. His painted landscape, flowers, portraits and insects precisely. He found his painting style by using various traditional painting technics, and took in Japanese and Western art’s point of view and three-dimensionality.

    • Gao Qifeng

      Gao Qifeng (高奇峰), a late Qing dynasty painter, was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong. His given name was Wei (嵡), and his courtesy name was Qifeng (奇峰), which he used as his professional name. Gao studied abroad in Japan and was a member of the Tongmenghui (同盟會), a revolutionary organization. Along with his brother Gao Jianfu (高劍父) and the painter Chen Shuren (陳樹人), he is recognized as one of the founding figures of the Lingnan School of Painting (嶺南畫派). Gao was highly regarded for his artistic skill and contributed significantly to the development of modern Chinese painting, earning the reputation as one of the "Two Gaos and One Chen," the three giants of the Lingnan School.

    • Lu Yifei

      Lu Yifei (1908-1997), other name was Chong, courtesy name was Yi Fei, art name was Su Sou, born in Changshu Jiangsu, a well-known Chinese modern painter and outstanding art educator. He specializes in bird-and-flower painting, especially peony. He produced “Flowers and Full Moon”, “Spring to the Countryside”, “Peach Blossoms”, etc. He was a professor of the China Academy of Art, a research student instructor, a vice director of the Xiling Painting and Calligraphy Institute, an honorary director of the Changshu Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and adviser of the Xiling Seal Art Society.
