Hang Xiying

Hang Xiying (1900–1947), also known as Xiying, personal name Guan Qun, was a native of Haining, Zhejiang Province, China. From an early age, he showed a strong interest in painting. At the age of 13, he joined the Commercial Press (Shangwu Yinshuguan) with his father, where he devoted himself to artistic training. He later established his own studio and worked on calendar posters (yuefenpai), as well as product logos and packaging design. He is regarded as one of the earliest pioneers of commercial art in modern China.

Jin Meisheng
Jin Meisheng, alias Shimo, a native of Shanghai, learnt Western painting from Xu Yongqing. In 1920, he was admitted to the Art Department of the Commercial Press, specialising in the painting of monthly cards, and in 1930, he set up his own studio, and for nearly 50 years, he has devoted his life to Chinese commercial art.
