Jin Meisheng

• Jin Meisheng, alias Shimo, a native of Shanghai, learnt Western painting from Xu Yongqing. In 1920, he was admitted to the Art Department of the Commercial Press, specialising in the painting of monthly cards, and in 1930, he set up his own studio, and for nearly 50 years, he has devoted his life to Chinese commercial art.
