Introduce: During the Tang Dynasty, there was a custom of placing colorful and lively figurines called Tang Sancai figurines or painted figurines in tombs. This practice stemmed from the ancient Chinese belief that a new life would begin after death. To accompany the deceased in their second life, figurines of attendants, horses, camels, oxen, and other figures were placed in tombs. In this exhibition, we will showcase Tang Sancai and painted figurines, including the famous Sancai horses, to explore and appreciate their unique charm.
