Sanno Museum of Art 15th Anniversary Exhibition “Fujita Tsuguharu, Saeki Yuzo, and Ogisu Takanori: A Collection of Works”

Introduce: This exhibition, bearing the same title as our inaugural exhibition 15 years ago, will showcase selected works from our collection, including newly acquired pieces by our key artists: Tsuguharu Foujita, Yuzo Saeki, and Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita. Although these three artists worked in different periods, they all share the common experience of graduating from the Tokyo Fine Arts School (now Tokyo University of the Arts) and then moving to Paris, where they established their unique artistic styles.

The exhibition will be organized across three floors, each dedicated to one artist, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of each artist’s life and the evolution of their artistic style. As you explore the exhibition, you will appreciate the distinct worlds of these three artists. Additionally, the exhibition will highlight their friendships and the relationships among contemporary artists, providing a deeper insight into the connections between these artists of the same era.
