Founded in 1814 by Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther in Hohenberg, Bavaria, Hutschenreuther became an important contributor to the development of the German porcelain industry. In 1857, his son Lorenz Hutschenreuther established a second factory in Selb, helping to establish the town as a major centre of German porcelain production. The manufactory became known for finely decorated tablewares and porcelain figures, reflecting the enduring craftsmanship and formal traditions of German porcelain.
