  KUBO SHUNMAN was one of the leading artists of the Kitao school, celebrated for his elegant bijin-ga and deluxe surimono. His refined linework, restrained palette, and graceful portrayal of figures reveal a close affinity with the literary circles of Edo. His exquisitely designed surimono, produced through highly sophisticated printing techniques, are regarded as masterpieces of late Edo printmaking.
