ARAKI TAKAKO, is best known for her distinctive biblical ceramic works. Her "Bible" series offers a profound interpretation of biblical texts using ceramic materials and silkscreen printing. By creating the Bible page by page on ceramics and applying silkscreen printing for the text, her innovative approach not only reflects the fragmentation and decay of the Bible but also delves deeply into religious texts. These works provoke reflection on the intersection of religion and contemporary art. In 1979, her trilogy—"The Golden Bible," "Bible of Sand," and "The Burnt-out Bible"—won the Best Work Award at the 5th Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, earning widespread recognition of her art both in Japan and internationally. Her Bible series, with its unique artistic techniques and profound spiritual depth, has been highly acclaimed in the art world.
