FUJITA TSUGUHARU, became a naturalized French citizen and was also known as Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita. He was born in Tokyo, Japan, and was a painter and sculptor. He is known for his paintings of cats and women, introducing Japanese painting techniques to oil painting. His original 'creamy skin' nude portraits have been widely praised in the Western art world. He was a representative of the Parisian school of painters.
