  ITO TAIGA, a painter born in Shimoda, Shizuoka Prefecture.
  He completed his studies in oil painting techniques and materials at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, in 1991.
  One of his notable series is "Crystallizing Landscapes." Created using a unique technique called "tataki," where the brush is pounded onto the canvas, his works captivate viewers with the impression that the canvas naturally crystallizes, rather than being painted, through the use of Itō's distinctive method of striking the canvas with brushes loaded with oil paint.
