  AUGUSTE RODIN, French sculptor. His major works include "The Thinker", "The Bronze Age", "The Citizens of Calais" and "The Gates of Hell". The Pilon Pavilion, which was used as art studio, was opened as the Rodin Museum in 1919. In Japan, the National Museum of Western Art, the Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art and the Ohara Museum of Art have major collections of his works.
