MASUO IKEDA, Japanese painter, printmaker, illustrator, sculptor, ceramist, novelist, and film director, born in Northeast China, grow up in Nagano in postwar. His works had many sensual styles. In 1965 he held the first solo exhibition as a Japanese artist at the MoMA in New York. In 1966 he awarded the government bond target of the Venice Biennale print category, which is the highest authority as a print artist following SHIKO MUNAKATA. He received the Akutagawa Prized for "Dedicated to the Aegean Sea" in 1977.
