款識：嘉慶戊午四月曉嵐記。端溪綠石硯譜之上不以為上品，此自宋代之論耳，若此硯者，豈是新坑紫石所及也。嘉慶戊午四月曉嵐記。
硯側鐫刻：端石之支，同宗異族，命曰綠瓊，用媲紫玉。是歲長至前三日又銘。
蓋刻：歐陽永叔廬陵集，有端溪綠石枕詩，然則北宋時竟不以為硯林矣，昆玉抵鵲不信然歟。石蓭相國謂綠石即鸜鵒眼之最，臣者是殆不然鸜鵒眼役，必旋螺令所見綠石皆直役也嘉慶壬戌七月二十八日曉嵐又記。
