Watanabe Ka

Watanabe Kazan (1793–1841), with the given name Sadatsune and commonly known as Noboru, used the art name Kazan (initially written as "華山", later changed to "崋山" around the age of 35). He also used other pseudonyms such as Zenrakudō and Gagakudō. He was a retainer of the Tahara Domain in Mikawa Province. During the late Edo period, he served as a samurai and painter, eventually rising to the position of karō (chief retainer or senior counselor) of the domain.
