Ma Yifu

  • Ma Yifu, originally named Futian, later changed to Fu, styled Yifo, later Yifu, with the art name Zhanweng and alternate names Juanweng, Juansou, and Juanxi Laoren, was from Kuaiji, Zhejiang (present-day Shaoxing, Zhejiang). He was a modern Chinese thinker, poet, calligrapher, and master of Sinology, and an early representative of the modern New Confucianism. Together with Liang Shuming and Xiong Shili, he is referred to as one of the “Three Sages of Modern China” (or “Three Sages of New Confucianism”).
