Qian Mingxun

• Qian Mingxun, courtesy name Xintan, art name Huanbi, was a native of Jiaxing. He became a provincial graduate (juren) during the Dingyou year of the Guangxu era (1877). He held various official positions, including serving as the Daotai (circuit intendant) of Tianjin Customs. From 1910 to 1911, he served as the superintendent of Beiyang University in Tianjin, which is now known as Tianjin University.
