Chen Rongchang

Chen Rongchang (陳榮昌), courtesy name Xiaopu (筱圃), had several art names including Xuzhai (虛齋), Tieren (鐵人), Xunnong (遜農), and Tongcun (桐村). He was from Kunming and was a renowned modern scholar, educator, poet, and calligrapher in Yunnan. In the ninth year of the Guangxu era (1883), he became a successful candidate in the imperial examination and was appointed as an editor at the Hanlin Academy.
