Yuan Ying

  • Yuan Ying, whose secular surname was Wu and childhood name was Changfa, took the monastic name Hongwu after becoming a monk. His courtesy name was Yuan Ying, and his pen name was Taoguang. He was from Fujian and served as the first president of the Chinese Buddhist Association.
