Dai Quheng

  • Dai Quheng (1755-1811) was a Qing dynasty official. His courtesy name was Hezhi, and his hao (pen name) was Lianshi. He was from Dayu County. At the age of 17, he became a juren and presented poetry to Emperor Qianlong in Tianjin, receiving great recognition. In the 43rd year of Qianlong's reign, he topped the imperial examination (as the top scholar). He held various positions, including Shiduxueshi (Imperial Reader), Minister of War, and Grand Secretary of the Tiyin Pavilion, while also overseeing the Hanlin Academy. His achievements and influence are highly regarded in the context of Qing dynasty civil officials.
