Jin Zhizhong

• Jin Junzhong (1908-1963), courtesy name Yunsheng, was a native of Beijing. In his youth, he studied under the masters of Chinese painting such as Huang Binhong and Xu Cao, and in 1938 he organised the ‘Beiping Painting Society’ with the painter Li Duanshan, where he made his living by selling paintings on weekdays.

    Li Duanshan (1913-?), courtesy name Shuping, courtesy name Duanhu, was a native of Beiping, where he studied under Jin Cheng and Xu Cao. He was a master of birds and flowers, landscapes, figures, and calligraphy, and in 1938, he founded the ‘Beiping Painting Society’ with Jin Dezhong.
