    KUSAMA YAYOI, known as one of Japan's living classic artists, was born in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan, moved to New York City in 1957, and began to exhibit her leading avant-garde artwork, now living in Tokyo, Japan. She has exhibited with other contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, and Jasper Johns.
