Takuan Soho

• Ze'an Zongpeng, a monk from the Rinzai sect in Japan. A native of Danma, his courtesy name is Ze'an, and his nicknames are Donghai Muweng and Mingzi. He was an eminent monk of the Daitokuji sect of the Rinzai sect in the early Edo period of Japan and the founder of Tokai Temple.
