    • Yang Yi

      Yang Yi (楊逸), courtesy name Dongshan (字: 東山), and also known by the pen names Lushi (号: 魯石), Wujian (無間), and Guanxue Weng (盥雪翁), was born in Shanghai. He was a poet and a painter. Along with figures like Yao Seng (姚僧), Wang Kun (汪琨), and Gao Yong (高邕), he co-founded the Yuyuan Calligraphy and Painting Charity Association (豫园书画慈善会). Yang Yi became an important figure in the Shanghai School (海上画派) of painting during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period.
