FURUKAWA YOSHISHIGE, Japanese Western-style painter. He graduated from the oil painting department of Tokyo Fine Arts School. In 1958, he joined the group ""Wild Fire"" by YOSHIDA HODAKA and others, and the comprehensive contemporary art group ""Art Club"" by OKAMOTOTARO, NANMATATATSUOKI, and others. In 1963, he went to the U.S. as an observer at the World Artists' Meeting in New York. In 1964, he was selected for the 15th New England Exhibition. Major Collections: the British Museum, the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, and the National Museum of Art, Osaka.
