FURUSAWA IWAMI, Japanese Western-style painter and avant-garde artist. He is known as one of the participants in "Ikebukuro Montparnasse," a studio village of artists who gathered in the Ikebukuro area from the 1950s to the 1940s. Pursued surrealist painting and was called the "Japanese Dali" as a pioneer of avant-garde art in Japan.
