TOMOZAWA KOTAO

• TOMOZAWA KOTAO, born in Bordeaux, France in 1999, creates unique figure paintings in which slime-like substances and organic motifs intertwine. Despite their simple compositions, these artworks leave a strong impression on viewers due to their realistic depiction of material textures, translucency, and softness. She studied in the Oil Painting department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. She received the Kume Prize in 2019 and the Ueno Geiyu Prize in 2021, and has attracted attention from early on.
