Wei Qihou

  • Wei Qihou, a calligrapher born in Jinan, Shandong Province, studied calligraphy in the Chinese Department of Fu Jen Catholic University in Beijing in his early years. He studied calligraphy in his spare time and was taught by Pu Xinshe, Pu Xueqi and Qigong, from whom he benefited a lot. The landscapes, bamboos and rocks are based on the paintings of literati from the Song and Yuan Dynasties and have their own new ideas. The two kings of calligraphy, the early Tang Dynasty and the Northern Song Dynasty, all have real calligraphy with mostly official scripts, cursive scripts with many chapters and cursive scripts, and running scripts close to Mi Yuanzhang.
