Fan Xu

Fan Xu, a painter in the late Qing Dynasty, years of birth and death unknown, courtesy name was Yun Tian, art name was Miaochang Jushi and Yutian Jushi, born in Shanyin (now Shaoxing) Zhejiang. Many of his works had human figures. He specialized in painting women. His style of painting was simple and the brushstrokes were smooth and precise.

Rui Xun, courtesy name Xinfu, and pseudonym Jingsu, was the son of Qi Shan, a Grand Secretary of the Imperial Cabinet. He became a jinshi (the highest degree in the imperial examination system) in the Bingxu Year of the Guangxu era (1886).
