Li Yin, courtesy name Shi'an, pen name Kan Mountain Yishi, and later self-styled as Jinsheng, was a female poet and painter during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. In her painting, she valued elegance and refinement. She studied the landscape painting techniques of Mi Fu and Mi Youren, excelling in both landscape and flower-and-bird painting. Her works were known for their clarity and grace, entirely devoid of the delicate femininity typically associated with women’s art.
