CHEN SHOUYI

• CHEN SHOUYI is a painter and educator born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the China Academy of Art in 1963, followed by advanced studies at its Oil Painting Department in 1968. He has held key academic positions including Director of the Art Education Department, Deputy Director of the Graduate School, and Director of the Comprehensive Painting Department, playing a central role in educational reform at the Academy. Currently a professor at the China Academy of Art, a member of the China Artists Association, and a board member of both the Zhejiang Artists Association and Zhejiang Oil Painters Association, Chen’s leadership in teaching and system-building has made indispensable contributions to art education in Zhejiang and across China.
