JACK SMITH

• JACK SMITH, Born in Sheffield, England, he studied at the Sheffield School of Art from 1944-46, then at St Martin's School of Art, and then at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts from 1950 to 1953. From the late 1950s, he began to favor still life paintings and gradually moved towards abstraction; by the 1960s, he was painting thickly.
