You Tong, whose style name is Zhancheng, has the same character as Tongren. In his early years, he was named San Zhongzi, also named Hui'an and later named Genzhai, Xitang Old Man, Heqi Old Man, Meihua Taoist, etc. He was born in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province today. He was a poet and dramatist in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, and was once praised as a "true talent" and "old celebrity" by Emperor Shunzhi and Emperoe Kangxi.
