OKUDA YOSHIMI, exhibited for the first time at the 15th Yomiuri Independents Exhibition in 1963, and formed the Avant-garde art group "I" with KAWAGUCHI TATSUO and others in 1965, exhibiting until the 4th exhibition. He continued to participate in important exhibitions in the history of contemporary art in Japan, including the 'Trix and Vision' exhibition organized by NAKAHARA YUSUKE and ISHIKO JUNZO in 1968 and the "Trends in Contemporary Art" exhibition in 1969. In addition to conceptual drawings on the theme of presence and absence, since the 1980s he has produced paintings on the same theme with multiple layers of delicate touches. Long active in Kobe, his international reputation has grown in recent years.
