  • Izumi Kato, Japanese painter and sculptor. Since his early days, He has been creating oil paintings and wood sculptures characterized by organic forms, using primitive and anonymous life forms such as fetuses, insects, and plants as his main motifs. In recent years, he has also been working on three-dimensional works using soft vinyl materials and lithographs.He has participated in "The Child Inside" (Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, 2006), "Venice Biennale" (2007), "MOT Annual 2007: Life-Size Promises" (Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, 2007), "Japanorama: New Vision on Art since 1970" (2017), "Japanorama: New Vision on Art since 1970" ( His work has been exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, etc. Solo exhibitions were held at the Red Brick Art Museum in Beijing, China in August 2018 and at the Perrotin Gallery in Seoul in October 2018.
