Zhang Pingshan

• Zhang Lu, with the courtesy name as Tianchi and the art name as Pingshan, was born in Xiangfu (now Kaifeng, Henan Province). When he was a boy, he copied portraits of Wu Daozi and Dai Jin. After that, he became famous and became an important Zhe school painter following Dai Jin and Wu Wei in the Ming dynasty. In portrait painting, he inherited the technique of Wu Wei, and in landscape painting, he inherited the style of Dai Jin.
