    Pang Zhao, also known as Lu Zhu Yao, was born in Wu County, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the Shanghai Art College in 1934, studied flower painting under Zheng Manqing, and acquired the techniques of Xu Wei and Chen Chun. After that, under the guidance of his uncle and the famous collector Pang Laishin, he copied many old paintings and learned the color design and sketching techniques of Shuhei and Hua.
