HIRAGA KEI

  • HIRAGA KEI, Japanese Western-style painter, won the Grand Prize at the International Young Artists Exhibition in 1964, exhibited at the International Erotic Art Exhibition in Sweden in 1968, the Sao Paulo Biennial in 1979, the Salon des Beaux-Arts at the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris in 1972 and 1974, and was awarded second prize at the Prix Le Franc in 1967. From 1974 to 1981, he had annual solo exhibitions at the Fuma Gallery in Tokyo. In 1982, he participated in the exhibition "The Turning Point of Contemporary Art" at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and the following year in "Trends in Contemporary Art, 1960s: Departures into Diversification" at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
