Fei Xinwo

  • Fei Xinwo, courtesy name was Li Qian, art name was Li Zhai, born in Huzhou Zhejiang. He learned Western painting from an early age, and later he learned Japanese painting and art techniques. He was a director of the China Calligraphers Association and an advisor of the Jiangsu Provincial Branch of the China Calligraphers Association. His clerical script was simple, and his regular script was soft and mellow. In his later years, his writings became more rhythmic, with ups and downs, dry and wet, and formed a unique personal calligraphy style.

      Wu Yanmu, a famous painter and art educator. Name is Peng, art name is Xiao Xuan, born in Zhejiang. Moved to Suzhou in his childhood with his father and a famous painter Wu Daiqiu. Worked as a President of Suzhou Painting Academy.

      Zhang Xinjia, courtesy name was Xingjie, was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu. He was an advisor to the Wumen School Research Association and president of the Suzhou Chinese Painting Institute. When he was a young, he studied landscape painting under Chen Mo who was a famous painter in Lushan. Later he studied flower-and-bird painting. Over the year, he had imitated the masterpiece of famous painters. He studied under Qingteng, Baiyang, Bada, Xugu, Bonian, Changshuo. His floer-and-bird paintings had bright colors, fresh mood and unique styles.

      Zhu Qizhan, art name was Qi Zai and Erzhan Laomin, born on May 27, 1892 in Taicang Jiangsu. He became a teacher at Shanghai Library Art Institute (later Shanghai Art College) in 1913. In 1917, he went to Japan and entered Kawabata Art School, and he studied drawing from Fujishima Takeji. In 1930, he published “Zhu Qizhan Painting Collection” from Yiyuan Zhenshang Society. In the same year, he served as a professor of Shanghai Xinhua Art College. In 1961, he painted Huangshan Mountain. In the following year, he held solo exhibitions in Shanghai and Nanjing. In 1981, he also held a solo exhibition in Shanghai.
